The house where the famous writer and sociologist Ziya Gökalp was born in 1876 was restored to its original state in 1956 and turned into a museum. One of the most beautiful buildings in Diyarbakır, the mansion was built in 1806 with basalt stones and consists of two floors. The rooms of the mansion are adorned with authentic decorations, and they display the writer's personal belongings as well as historical documents.
