Keldani Kilisesi (Mar Petyun Keldani Church)

Mar Petyun Chaldean Church is one of the significant remnants bearing witness to the rich history of Diyarbakır. Situated near the Şeyh Mutahhar Mosque, the church forms an integral part of Diyarbakır's historical heritage. Estimated to have been initially built in the 4th century, the church has been demolished and reconstructed several times over time. The structure that has survived to the present day was built in the 17th century.

It is known that Mar Petyun Chaldean Church is still used, especially by Eastern Syriacs. The church is constructed using black basalt stone, giving it a distinctive architectural character. Since 1681, it has been serving as the Amid Chaldean Church.
